Two-Tier Notes Application
Personal Project
  • Deployed a two-tier notes application on Oracle Cloud: public Nginx frontend and private FastAPI backend.
  • Implemented JWT-secured user authentication with per-user notes and SQLite persistence.
  • Configured Nginx reverse proxy to expose /api while keeping the backend accessible only via internal networking.
  • Hardened access using OCI security lists and iptables (restricted SSH, dedicated API port, persistent firewall rules).

  • Repurposed a Windows laptop into an always-on Ubuntu Server homelab running under VMware.
  • Exposed services securely via Tailscale-only access.

Master’s Thesis
  • Built a short-term electricity consumption forecaster for Romania using artificial neural networks on 2019–2025 hourly data.
  • Designed a clean 72-hour input-window pipeline and fixed train/validation/test splits.
